Thanksgiving in Katy

This is the fittness house just a few blocks from the house in Katy, I love it and cannot wait until I can take the kids to swim (the pool and playground are located behind this building) I took the kids on a walk and showed it to them this weekend, Keegan is so excited to make new friends in the neighborhood!
The dining room, although we bought a table that would seat 8, we still needed to bring in some old metal fold-up chairs...I almost removed them for the picture...

The kids sitting back taking a rest during out walk around the neighborhood...

Classes DONE

I have not updated in awhile, but I was caught up in over my head with a Halloween party, 1 research paper, 2 HUGE essay's, 3 finals and trying to still be a Mom at the same time-- oh, and getting ready to relocate at the end of the year, so, add researching new public schools, day cares, baseball sign ups, art schools (for keegan), etc., it has been hectic...I did finish all the classes (not much of the rest listed), did well and now I can enjoy the Holidays with my children and give them the attention they deserve ;)

My first action today to do with Kaleb in trying to give him some much needed one on one attention, was to go "dinosaur bone Hunting" ya, I know, sounds a bit caveman like, however, Kaleb loves Dinosaurs and for the past 8 weeks has been pushed (literally) to the side while I was busy with my online classes. We had fun, however, we did not find any bones...hmmm, one day I need to set it so we do! How much fun he would have finding some on an exploration one day.

Today was the first time that I pulled up to the elementary school and just let Keegan jump out of the car and make her way into the school on her own. As I was driving up to the driveway, I said, do you want to walk up by yourself, and to my surprise she said "yes, and smiled...really big" How funny: to proudly watch your daughter becoming independent and hating every single second of it too. It's an odd combo of feeling to have, and I feel odd sharing it here, but maybe somebody else knows what I mean and it validates their feelings as well. I pushed and pushed my first born to walk early, to talk early, to start reading early, to be independent and when she really started "acting like a big girl" the only thing I want is to hold her as a baby again. It probably explains why I don't push my second born-as hard, I just let him be...Im just letting him grow up at his own speed, at his own pace. Some say I baby him, and perhaps I do--to a small extent, but he is my baby. And, if I would not have done such a good job at making my daughter an independent fireball, I would slow her down too...however, she's already gone....at the pace I set her on--years ago. Is it a flaw of mine to now want them to stay little just for alittle longer? Or is it me just trying to keep life still for just a second before it turns into a memory or a chunk of memory on my digital camera...I prefer to have the memories alive in my arms for as long as possible, to lengthen the quality of their childhood. Some of us did not have that...and as for me and my children we will.

Anyhow, Life has been good, some drama, but a lot of life going on here and I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. Im learning it takes a lot flexiblity and listening to others, not that they are correct, or even romotely right--but sometimes--they are and it's worth listening and thinking about everything somebody tells you or brings insight to you, however, the truth is, during life we are all still learning, whether it's about raising children, trying to maintain relationships, english comp, or just learning to eat a better there is so much out there to learn and I can say I feel like I have just earned a PhD in life in the last few weeks.

The kids with their pumkins
Kaleb and his Very traditonal Pumkin (this was his choice)

And ME, like said this was HARD for me to do...Justin has not carved his pumkin..will post his later when I get the picture.

A perfect Weekend In Katy

This Weekend was WONDEFUL! The kids and I had a great time. Above, are all the pumkins that Justin and I craved (for the kids, the A&M is mine). This was my first year to use a stencil and, it was hard ;( The Moyer's have a annual pumkin craving competion every year and figured with my I-Can-Do-Anything attitude that this would be no big deal. Was I ever wrong. It is hard, and I broke a little saw doing it, thank goodness we had extras. I suppose Justin knew I would bend and break them from his experience.
This is in Justin's garage, he's helping all the kids clean out the pumkins. Which they soon lost attention for and WE ended up doing it ALL. And, Lovely Lady Zoe, showing her belly off, this is her new found passion. She did this too many times to count at the Farm, she even enjoyed teaching another little girl how to do the 'tummy flash'...

On Saturday we went to Dewberry Farms! It was enchanting ;) I love this place! It is a 100 acre farm and the family has put together so many fun things to do--Corn Maze, Hay Rides, Pillow Jumpers (they were huge see additional pics posted later) Huge wood Forts, Petting Zoo, A thing called the Black Hole (see addtional pics posted later) Corn cannons, Food, Sno-cones, and so much more!...they definetly know how to have a good time on a farm. Above, is Justin showing the kids how to blast baby pumkins out of a cannon ;) What ever little kid needs to know how to do!

Here's me and the crew...Zoe, Kaleb (he really was happy!) and Keegan

Keegan the horse and Kaleb the Goat...
We had a wonderful time and I intend on posting some more pictures from the weekend when Justin emails me the pictures from his camera.
Take Care!

Just a little Sneak Peek....

This is Keegan's Snow Princess Halloween dress! It's so beautiful....I cannot wait to see it on her. I plan on a few other elements to really add some sparkle to this ensemble! You just have to wait until Halloween to see the end result...
Take Care,

The Game at ATM

The Game WAS Amazing...and although the seats were very High up, I enjoyed being able to see everything, and much to my surprise we had a nice breeze, so it wasn't hot at all! Too bad A&M lost....but it was an amazing time.
Yes, we were this high up...
The band was Awsome...they are everything that a 'marching band' should be expected to be!

OMG! Where do they learn this stuff?!

So this morning as Im getting the kids ready for the day, I hear Kaleb in the bathroom and he needs some help. No big deal. He has just turned 4 and was asking for help in the clean up dept. Like I said, NO Big Deal. That is unless you are his sister, who is the old age of 5 (almost 6). As soon as we depart from the bathroom, she starts laughing and telling her brother...'Im going to tell all my friends that Mom still wipes your bottom'....OMG. He was devastated. Of course after explaining why some things are not disclosed to the public at large of our family issues, I do believe I have resumed my little boy self confidence back.
Zoe and I, looking on at the Go, Diego, Go walkie talkie....she has for the first time slept in a big girl bed--although she did have some problems falling asleep at an early hour, I do believe next time she stays at Daddy's it will be easier to settle her!

And here's the newest shoot of Zoe and Daddy!
