That's going to scar!

That's going to S-C-A-R! I decided the other morning that just throwing my shirt into the dryer for a quick air fluff wasn't going to cut it (being the super professional i am). So, I turned the iron on, let it really heat up...walked over and somehow managed to burn the inside of my wrist. It sizzled when it hit my skin. And, instead of being able to jump away quickly-I choked and just stared in a lot of pain. I was in shock over the amount of noise it made! This was taken the day of, you should see it now! Needless to say, I didn't finish ironing that shirt, and wore something else (that didn't need ironing!).
Now, you would think that one would not ever let something like this happen to them...if they had experienced it once before....I've done this before and now I've done it again. I've made the choice to never iron again. Sorry, just deal with me and my wrinkles, it's a lot healthier for me!
Take care all!

My Little Genius!

Keegan just maybe the next Albert..Alberta! I've scanned a few pictures of her latest at home work, this girl is non-stop drawing, writing or coloring from the time we get home until she goes to bed. I've even caught her in the morning at the kitchen table drawing at 6am..before school! Now, these drawings I wouldn't say are her best, I have notebooks, folders and shoeboxes full of 'Keegan's artwork'. What I'm totally impressed is her ability to sound words out...check out the last drawing, she did that on her own. Of course, it's easy to read I love Cassie....then the other is I love Mr. Valentine (or is suppose to she added a few too many letters) and the other is I love Mrs. Barnett!

Here's a convo I had with Keegan last night.

K- (as she comes running to me while Im cooking) Mom, the dinosaur cartoon we are watching is fiction-because it's not real.
Mom- Ya, that's right, your so smart.
K- But, Josh and Drake* are non-fiction because they are real.
Mom-Ummmmm, well, they are real people, but....
K- stomp, stomp, stomp..fall (like usual)...and is gone.

*Josh and Drake have a sitcom on Nick, ummm, that's scripted.

I didn't tell her that she wasn't all the way correct. She was so proud to know the terms, she was almost right. I think I will just turn on a documentary and tell her that 'this is non-fiction' and soon she will totally understand the difference. ;)

Chicken Pox's?

So as some know, I lost my shot record about 10 years ago...which to some they may never need it after public school so it's not too much of a problem. I have decided to get my nursing license....so it's a huge problem. After much detective work in trying to find a record somewhere of my shot record none showed up, except for one that Casey found that only saved me from getting a few shots. So, Im having to re-do ALL my shots. UGH. I went 2 days ago and got 4 shots in my arms. And, yes, one including was the chicken pox vaccine. Yes, I had chicken pox as a young infant (about 6 months old) but Dad isn't sure and won't write a letter documenting the fact so I had to start the round of shots for that too. Besides my arms hurting and not being able to raise my elbows above my shoulders all was going good. Until I realized that 'the spot I keep itching on my arm, right by the injection site' is not a mosquito bite at all....it's a reaction to the chicken pox vaccine!! I am walking around with a bit of the chicken pox symptoms...for real, how does this stuff always happen to me!? It could be worse, I could have ended up with a full blown case, I still could. It says reactions can happen with in the first 2-30ish days...I go back for 5 more shots in 3 months including another chicken pox vaccine...hope all is well with everybody!
Love ya,
Cassie

Congrats your the Mother of two new furry babies...

I neglected to post a few other things that happened this weekend...not intenitonally ;) Just got caught up.

So, when I went to Bossier city with my parents, (which we have sworn we will never take a group bus trip again to go!) I had there Dad watch them...I suppose since he wanted to make it an unforgettable time for them or out of sheer despise to me (he knows my stance on furry creatures in the house, other then the kids) decided it was time for the kids to have a pet--a hamster. Now, don't get me wrong I feel it's important for the kids to learn responsibility. And, I have thought as soon as I get the yard fenced in I would get a dog for the kids. But, at this time, yard is not fenced....so when I picked the kids up that evening (about 1130 pm) I also had teddy and fluffy to take home.
Their cage is absolutely cool! And, as much as I would like to complain, Im starting to build a bond with teddy, the other hamster fluffy seems to have some type of skittish personality and Im not brave enough to pick him up...i really dont want to get bitten and end up using a few choice words in front of the kids!

I will post some pictures soon!

Take care,
Cassie

**BOOMTOWN**

Wow--What a great time we had at Boomtown, LA! I have NO pictures of the inside because I wasn't allowed to use my camera in the gambling areas. Dad, Me and Becky all went up together, which was a insanly long drive, I watched 2 moves up there and 2 moves back! I lost no money, played on 20 the whole day!

One thing I will never forget about the experience there was my Dad almost getting us kicked out of the casino! Now, we were playing on the nickel machines, and hardly could be considered 'big spenders' but you wouldn't have known by the way we were carrying on at those penny machines! They make so much noise when you win even 50 cents. The credits take several seconds to roll out and if you didn't know, you'd assume you'd just won a ton. So. after a few run and diet cokes and a few jackpots later (all under 400.00) we had a floor guy walk over and ask us to keep it down....for real. My Dad, decided to not adhere to the warning, he's reasoning...nobody gets kicked out of a casino, if they are not cheating and are spending money...well, we didnt get kicked out but Dad insisted on letting out bellowing 'whooooossssss' whenever we would get a big credit! It was fun and I will never forget it!

She smiled!

In this day and age it seems that all mommies have cameras armed at all times in their pockets, purses, etc...I use to be that way until I realized my camera shy daughter would never allow me to get that 'it' picture. When she began walking and then learned how to run...it was all over for me getting a great smiling face in a picture, but I have many of the back of her head (and i have proudly shown those off..LOL)! Until a few weeks ago when the preK pictures proofs came back-- and I was amazed, I too, have a great picture of my daughter! I have retired the old baby picture I had in my wallet and replaced it with this trophey!
